PM Modi Launches The New Amrit Bharat Express Trains In Ayodhya

After the success of the popular Vande Bharat Express trains, travelers were eagerly waiting for the launch of Amrit Bharat Express trains. Some people believed the Vande Bharat Express trains were not created for the masses due to their high fare. To solve this problem, Indian Railways planned to launch a new set of no-frill non-AC trains at a low fare that will be affordable for the masses.

This new set of trains was earlier called Vande Sadharan Express. However, to differentiate it from the Vande Bharat Express, it was later renamed Amrit Bharat Express. Unlike Vande Bharat Express, the new Amrit Bharat Express is a sleeper train designed to connect cities within a distance of more than 1000 km. The operating speed of these trains is limited in the range of 110-130 kmph.

Features of Amrit Bharat Express:

  • Long-distance sleeper trains with push-pull technology.
  • 22 coach trainset with a maximum speed of 130 km/h
  • 12 sleeper coaches, 8 unreserved coaches, and 2 luggage coaches
  • CCTV cameras
  • Electric outlets
  • Bio vacuum toilets
  • Sensor-based water taps
  • Passenger information system

Today, PM Modi has finally inaugurated the first two Amrit Bharat Express trains. Darbhanga – Ayodhya – Delhi train was flagged off from Ayodhya Dham Junction railway station, while the Malda Town – Bengaluru train was virtually flagged off during the same event in Ayodhya.
