Darbhanga – Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express Flagged Off By PM Modi

PM Narendra Modi has finally launched the first non-AC superfast Amrit Bharat Express at an event in Ayodhya Dhaam Junction on 30th December 2023. This bi-weekly train will start from Darbhanga Junction in Bihar and cover a distance of 1142 km to reach Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. Along with this train, the Indian Prime Minister has also flagged off the second Amrit Bharat Express and 6 Vande Bharat Express trains.

The 22-coach trainset includes 12 sleeper coaches, 8 unreserved coaches, and 2 guard vans. In its nearly 21-hour journey, this train will travel through various cities in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi with an average speed of 53 km/h. It will also help people from these cities to visit Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya.

The commercial run of this train will begin on 1 January 2024. Train no 15557 will depart from Darbhanga Junction every Monday and Thursday, while train no. 15558 will depart from Anand Vihar Terminal every Tuesday and Friday.

This train has facilities such as CCTV cameras, an electric outlet for every seat, reading lights, bottle holders, vacuum toilets, foot-operated water taps, a passenger information system, and much more. The booking of this train has already begun on the Indian Railways IRCTC website.
